Default spec stg 1 shims?

So I bought a spec stage 1. All I could afford. So I hear that It needs to be shimed. I kno that the stock shime is the small black ring that goes on the tb bering. My question is do I add that shim n then another one just like it ontop of it or is the stock one sufficent? And if not were can I get another shime.

Unfortunitely you won't really know if you need a shim till you get it in the car. Once you get it in, have all 4 wheels up in the air on jack stands. Push the clutch in and without pushing on the brake pedal, slowly push the shifter into 1st gear. If it grinds or the wheels start spinning, then you will need a shim. If it goes in smooth then you are good to go.

So have the clutch full engaged and then put it into first gear. I should no see wheel spin or hear grinding. So pretty much if the clutch engages at starting point then I need to shim if it engages high on the predal then remove shim???

The great majority of cars do need the shim. If you want to check this need in advance you can actually do this by taking a few measurements. These are outlined on the link below. Take a look and let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks,
