Default Computer suggestions for boosted 98 TA?

Been stowing money away for some time now to start a FI build on the TA and had a question about the ECU. I have read about the problems with the 98 computers and how they are a bear to tune and that they are "blind" when you run more than 14lbs of boost. I know there is a way to re pin it and do some chop job on the harness to make it work. I was just wondering if there is anything that is a little more plug and play. Just pointing the finger toward the right shop to contact would be a great help at this point.

Our software offers a 2 bar custom operating system for 98's, aside from repinning its really your best bet for boosted tuning on them.

2 bar equates to ~15psi of positive boost pressure.

I run HP on my 02 with the 3bar OS and it is a very good product. We also run HP on our 98 with the 2bar OS. There is no need for you to replace the PCM unless you are going to go way over 2bar (15psi). You can get away with 17psi on it. The later year cars PCM like mine can go to 3bar OS. Other than that there are only small differences with the years from 98 to 02 OEM PCMs. Plus HP Tuners has a great forum for learning and getting help, not to mention there are many very good tuners here like Frost that are honost and help people all the time.

Good luck!
