Default Slack in clutch

Hey guys I am having an issue with my clutch:

After I drive in the high rpm's or if I powershift or spin out the engage point for the clutch goes from the top of the pedal to near at the floor.

After 2 minutes or so of low rpm driving it comes back though. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Could it be the fluid is getting hot behind the manifold? What do you guys think?

Thanks!

Meant to add, when it happens it gets very slacky/little resistance it the pedal until the clutch engages way down at the floor almost.

Also it's a 2002 SS, intake, mass air, underdrive pulleys, and LM1 exhaust.

I would first suspect its a hydraulic issue, and that being your master cylinder. Have u had any problems with Ur clutch slipping?

I'm having similar problems. I'm going to change my clutch fluid, and see if that helps.

No, the clutch doesn't slip at all.

There is just a ton of slack in the pedal after get on it. It does come right back after a couple minutes though.

And it performs fine at low rpm's, only if I drop the clutch and spin out or powershift does the slack come.

It sounds like you are seeing aeration of the fluid. That being said start the trouble shooting process by examining the condition of the hydraulic fluid in the reservoir. If it is dark or discolored then you can flush the system and refill it with new fluid. This may or may not fix your issue. If it does...great! If not then you need to consider replacing the master and or slave cylinder. You should also check for leaks from the bellhousing and on the firewall where the master mounts (inside and outside). Let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks,

Awesome thanks spec. Checked the fluid and it is definitely dirty, it's supposed to be clear right?
