They are good units and will take a lot of abuse. Most guys that run a TH400 infront of them. I honestly don't know if it has been done in a late model fbody. Most of the guys I have seen run them use them in older cars but I guess with some fabricating it's always possible. Vince

Yea i was looking to run it behind a th400 to. but wanted a super strong over drive and a way to shorten my drive shaft too.

was hoping these had a good track record.

i know a couple guys running them, so far bullet proof-a lot of RV's used them
the only downside, if it is one, maybe using a real loose converter, and in O/D
maybe the converter would see more slippage, more heat
i dont know if anyone has used a temp gauge and actually looked at it
that is where the 4L80E can shine, with the lockup converter-i know in mine i could watch the trans temp go down on the highway once i locked up
i would think a real good trans cooler, or 2, would help
