Stick something down in the head bolt holes to see if all of the big ones are the same length. If they are, order the bolts accordingly. There are only two types. One has all the big bolts the same length and the other type has two different lengths.

2004+ blocks the big bolts are all the same length (LS2,LS3,LS7, ECT.)
PRE 2004 Blocks have the short and long big bolts (LS1, LS6)
Thats according to ARP.
I'm missing something though, didn't the 04 gto have an LS1? So wouldn't it have long and short bolts?
anyway, id say its safe to say all LS2's have the same length big head bolts. can someone confirm??

The early 2004 GTOs, like mine with a DEC 2003 build date, have the older short and long bolts. They switched to the all long bolts in the LS1 GTOs sometime in early 2004. I'm not sure of the date.
