I put the 2" drop Hotchkis in mine and it looks pretty close to stock height. Maybe a little lower.

I put 1 1/2" Hotchkis and B-body Spindles on my Chevelle. With SBC, it should have been close to3" lower..but after putting it on the ground.. it was just a bit higher that Stock.. !

I cut a 1/2 Coil off and it drop it down a go 1-1/2" 1-3/4"...

I used the Hotchkiss lowering. The advertisement promises a 'firm', but not harsh ride. These words would be applied to the iron block, I presume.
So, for the LS1, it'll prob be a hard ride.
I kept the old well-worn stock springs just in case the Hotchkiss are too hard.
A bit of cutting might be in order.

Sounds like about 2 in on average. gmag I'm thinking like you a firm ride may be a little stiff with ls alum.

Maybe I can enlist a heavy person or sandbags to ride shotgun with me! Glad I kept the worn springs. The Hotchkiss look so good, though...all painted/rallye silver.

That sucks. I haven't gotten mine on the road yet and was hoping it would still ride good. Maybe I should cut the stock coils

I debated this also and ended up with the hotchkis lowering springs. I can not comment on the ride quality but I'm hoping for a "firm but not too stiff" ride since I'm also going to use their re-valved shocks. David Pozzi has good info on Moog springs which was is my Plan B if the Hotchkis are too stiff. Sounds like I'll be cutting my hotchkis springs to get it to sit right. A third option is the AFCO adjusters and short coil springs offered in various spring rates. I'll look around for PNs on all this and re-post.

MisterD... yes.. it rides flat in the twisty and x-cross. A bit stiff on bad and bumpy roads... but normal street and Highway its pertty good.. but being an heavy car (3600)... it's not that bad IMO.
