Default Superchargers and MPG

Hey all,

Just curious . . .

Those of you who have superchargers; how much did those power adders affect your MPG in normal driving. I know that when you're in boost, there is significant difference, but do any of you have an idea on numbers on your average hwy driving.

Trying to get a feel for how much the spinning of the pulley outside of boost affects the mpg.

Kind of at a point where I am torn between building up the CTS-V, ditching it and putting more money into the Stang, or looking at other options that will retain decent MPG.

You won't notice the difference IF you can keep your foot out of it.

Sell the Stang & the V1 and buy an '09 or '10 V2 . . . power & performance.
Less insurance, less maintenance ie tires, oil, gas, tune-ups, etc., less headaches, . .. damn . .
i must be getting old . . . . . NEVER MIND.

Oh, MPG with maggie . . . 0 to 1 less . . maybe 2 . . depending on the adjustment of the nut behind the wheel.

If I owned both outright, I'd consider it. But 19mpg highway on the new V's sucks . . . even for all the fun you get out of it.

understatement of the century, if it aint me trying to keep myself from letting my right foot at it, then its one of my passengers/kids encouraging me to support OPEC...

Headers lowered my fuel economy by about 1-1/2 MPG overall.

Put the maggie on and there was no difference in MPG ... except when my foot couldn't resist the temptation.

It seems to all be relative on the "how you drive it" factor. It's like when people ask me "What kind of mpg's does that car get?"....I always say "What can it get? Or what does it get with me driving?"

Not sure about the cam, but that tune was probably key.

I noticed my gas mileage going up after headers too. Thank the tuner!
