Thumbs up 1994 Z/28 Engine removal/rebuild

Ive got a few weeks of free time on my hands so i thought i would start on my old 94 Z28

Ill be taking the engine out and replacing the head gaskets and heater core along with whatever else i find, my goal is to get it back to the fun, stock, daily driver it used to be without spending and arm and leg.

Currently doesn't start, but its been sitting for about a year now.

I'll be starting tomorrow, any advice anyone has as I undergo this journey would be great! I'm using my uncle, internet articles, and a book i got from Kragen to inform me. I'll begin posting pictures of progress tomorrow morning.

P.S I forgot to mention I will be working on it in a shop with a two post asymmetric car lift =)

First things first..... Give it a bath lol. It should look good at all times while you are working on it.
So what all are you going to do now? Pull the engine or just replace the head gasket.

Take your time....get some plastic bags to keep all your bolts labeled so the install will go smooth. While your replacing the head gaskets you might as well replace all the seals, timing set...and like Jaycenk mentioned give that engine bay a good cleaning.

Like Riceburner said plastic bags labeled with what's inside. I would also look at finding some plastic bins to keep everything else in. If your pulling the motor you might as well change your motor mounts. I got the aftermarket mounts and drilled out the brackets and reused them. If you have the money I recommended doing headers.
