Default LS1 Lid Swap with Chrs1313 RA Finally Complete!

Big Thanks to Larry @ speed inc for fielding all my questions on this without him I don't think I would of even bothered with this mod.

No cutting on the core for the lid to fit just trimmed the base, I had to cut the core for the RA A/C version but nothing to the extreme.... Overall I'm finally happy its done and I look forward to this summer to see the results.

Lid is a Fast toys 104mm mated to be mated to 102 mm TB

Next up Nitrous outlet plate system!

Is that an edelbrock intake or a ported stock one?

lol yeah back in 2008 a certain individual talked me into swapping a LS1 into the car.

No trans cooler it's a 6 speed car. But if you did there is room to either side of the RA to install a trans cooler and have it still function properly.

That looks like what i have. I bought a FTRA from some guy on here and I only got the lower section. I hacked it up pretty good, still need to clean up my whole install but dont you think it reduces the amount of air that will hit the filter??

It makes the opening smaller, I want to try with and without to make sure its worth it. I also trimmed mine quite a bit and it sits lower than yours. I got to get some pics, my car is still in the shop in lots of pieces.

Lol, My lt1 bent a #5 connecting rod NA!! it couldn't handle the high rpm of the 847 cam.

This one only gets smaller around the top, at the bottom it's about 3.5''-4'' wide which is actually pretty good. The reports have been 1-2mph gain so I know it works and I hope for the same I'm excited to see the results. This motor was starving for air with the LT1 style moroso cold air kit and after seeing the inlet of the CAI could fit inside the actual 102mm tb I didn't want that huge bottle neck so it was time to make a change. If you don't see any results from the FTRA I would recommend the Chrs1313 its a nice design and if you don't have a/c you can even get a bigger box in there for more air.
