Help high oil presure and engine chatter I have a 2000 Firehawk. Out of nowhere the oil presure is at about 60 at idle. It shoots up past 70 at moderate acceleration and ther is a lot of engine chatter. I tried an engine flush and oil change (gunk 5 minute flush). The car only has about 63 k on it. im pretty sure its not the sending unit since the motor seems to sound like its not recieving enough oil. Any help would be great.

I would remove the pass. valve cover and run the car without it, you should see oil coming out of the rockers in under a minute. If you see no oil at all, You have an oil supply problem, (pump) If you have oil then your sending unit may be bad, however a bad sender would have nothing to do with engine noise. What kindof noise are you hearing, a ticking or knocking quiet, or loud, valvetrain noise, or engine noise?

The chatter sounds like its comming from the valvetrain and its more of a ticking noise. It doesnt really do it at idle, mostly when there is load on the motor. The car is also running kind of rough. Ill pull the valve cover in a little while and repost my findings.
