Default Lets talk stock 10-spokes...

Ok, I have danced around so many different wheel options I'm goin crazy. I see lots I like, some I can afford & some I wouldn't pay whats asked even if I could afford them, LOL. I got to thinkin about stock wheels, vette wheels, whats common, what I have seen around town or not seen.

Then it jumped out to me, stock SS 10-spokes on a bird. I do not believe I have seen a single bird running those wheels around my area. I have come to the realization finding a set of chrome in perfect condition will cost as much as new wheels from OEwheels & might not even be possible anymore, LOL. So I'm thinking about just a plain set to have powder coated. But what color, this is the big question?

I'd like to see some pics of different colored 10-spokes & pics of them on birds. I know some of you have them but pics are far & few between.

I'd disagree. Granted not all wheels look good on all cars though, the entire look of the car has to go with the wheels IMO for it to all come together. I believe the 10 spokes can be pulled off nicely on a bird if done correctly.

Here's a couple pics I found:

Still just awful looking IMO. I'd much rather have C5 Z06 Rims. Still a "ten spoke" style kind of, they just look worlds better. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder tho, so if you're dead set on it, go for it.

Yea, I saw those pics on that car but couldnt really find any other pics. I'm also leanin away from black powder coat too, everyone has black or black/polished/machined or stinless lipped wheels now days.

The paint on my car is goin to hell & with the prices I was quoted for NBM to be repainted, I'm thinkin the color change is gonna happen when it gets painted as well.

I wouldnt mind a set of chrome C5 Z06's but I'm tryin to spend less than that. If I can find a set of painted 10 spokes thats arent rashed to hell I know a local powder guy who will do the wheels for about $40 each.

iv seen 10 painted spokes on a lowered pewter WS6 around town, I liked it.

I almost called you today to see if you knew anyone with a set for sale, LOL.

That idea could look cool too, I like different. Only catch on that one would be finding a cheapo set of C5 Z06's that werent trashed. I'd hate to do all that to a set with mint chrome still on them.

I have been searchin all day & think I could have a lead on a chrome set of 10 spokes in OKC that have pitted/peeling chrome. No problem though since I'm plannin on blastin & coating them anyway. And if the price is right I could come out with unique wheels for about $400. What color to coat them is one of the big questions though.

I think c5 zo6 wheels look like complete ***...especially on firebirds, don't fit the flow of the car at all.

10 spokes are a step up but still look better on camaros IMO

I would like to see pics too. I've thought about putting on non-chrome 10 spokes on my black TA. Even though the pic posted above, with no lowering and black wheels does not look good at all to me. Lowered on gun metal gray or maybe chrome, would look alot better imo. I think the C5 ZO6 wheels would look good also.

I'm sorry, but I totally despise seeing parts swapped around on the F twins. These cars have enough identity problems as it is. No offense to you Camaro guys, but I get reeeeeeally irate when someone tells me I have a nice looking Camaro when it's a damn T/A!!!

Yeah honestly the ws6 wheels look awesome on yalls cars. Just like a powdered set of ss looks good on ours. I know you might want something thats not that common but the spyders are 10x better on your car and look amazing in black. I think it would be a much better choice over the SS' IMO

And they would be double the price as well. If I'm gonna drop $800 on wheels I'm getting the Chrome 18" C5 DD wheels from OE hands down. Closest look to CCW you can get for a fraction of the price. But with my driving style & the amount of miles I drive my car I'm tryin to stick with 17's so tire prices stay affordable. I just cant justify the cost of keepin nice 18" tires on the car.

I dont hate my stock wheels by any means. Granted the clear is jacked up on them & they need to either be chromed or stripped, polished & recleared. They have been abused & driven on year round the entire life of the car. So I have looked at them so long I'm ready for a change of view. I'll be keeping my stock wheels.

I came up with a idea last night but I'd like to get a photoshop of it done to get a better visual but it would definetly be different & uncommon. I have (2) pics I need done so if someone sees this & can do good photoshops please PM me.

LOL, cant do it man. I'm keepin them. Whatever wheels I end up goin with will only be ran on the car from April to December, then the stock wheels go back on for winter. I dont wanna drive my nice new wheels through the snow, salt & sand.

I don't see what the big deal is when swapping from this car to that. I mean hell, look at what they did in the 60's. A lot of Camaros back then had the Corvette Ralley's and they look good then as they do now. And what's the difference in swapping parts? The Vette, Camaro, and T/A all have the same motor. The Camaro and T/A were built both around the same platform with different bodies. So why can they not share other stuff when there the same car but have different bodies?

Not a bird but different color. Stock silver 10 spokes painted and sanded/polished.
