Default having trouble with vss no speedometer

I recently installed my new 6.1L in the V and have not had a speedometer since. I pulled the DTCs and came up with a error for VSS and have since changed out that speed sensor. Still no luck. I guess the next step would be to make my own wires for the sensor to the computer to check see if the wires are cut? Any help or ideas would be great help. Also, if anyone knows exactly which way the VSS wires run through the engine compartment so I can splice into them further down the line.
Thanks

Don't know how much help it'll be to ya, but heres all I could find on Gm SI

Looks like there is a fuse and a relay going to the vss.

did you have any luck? I am having the same issue. had the speed sensor code. changed the sensor cleared the code, and still no speedo. The tech II sees a signal from all 4 wheels and the trans. the cluster past the gauge test. i can't think what else could be the cause?

Is there a reluctor wheel problem? Is there even a wheel on these cars?

I just noticed that my G meter is not working as well. and i am getting the occasional Stability warning too, and the traction control light comes on?

gonna spend some time this weekend and really check it out.

did you pull the trans? is so you might have done what i did and swap the plus on the passenger side of the trans with each other causing the vss and no speedo issue. they both fit into each other but i think one is purple and the other is grey.
