Default Irwindale 2/17/11

Anyone else going? Supposed to be clear weather all day. I hoping to see some better times, but who knows.

I was going to go, but agreed to work tonight because I thought it was going to rain. Now that it has not rained I'm frustrated because I cant go. I think the last time I was there was in August.

Busted a valvespring in the burnout box there last week... car is in the shop now. I'll be back out there as soon as it's back together!

How obvious is the turn off and how sticky is the track? Don't want to embarrass myself the first time I go and afraid that I will bog and stall or spin like crazy. And then missing the turn would be the icing on the cake. Thinking I should go next week but not sure

First turn out comes up quick, I have to get on the brakes hard pretty much lock it up to barely make the first one, the second is easy, it is the end of the track and just follow around. It is usually pretty sticky hopefully the left lane is good tonight, I think it was nice enough today to undo the affects from the rain yesterday. Left lane is usually the best, right I almost always spin.

If you are there and want some pointers I am the tall lanky white dude with the pewter Z28 hardtop with 69 Z28 badges.

Ohh looks like rain next thursday but I will be watching the weather like I had been doing all day yesterday as I miss running at Irwindale and am glad I can this semester.

I agree, also the 2nd turn off looks as though your headed towards the k-rail because the opening is just to the right lol

Yes, I always wondered how the guys/gals with really fast cars do that.

Good night last night, got about 9 runs in. Best for the night was 7.56 @ 91.88. Worst was an 8.2 spinning to the 60'.

Wow 9 runs is a good night. I need to get my car out there when I finish my next few mods in about a week or so. I'm hoping to get in the 6's. I have one stud broke off though on my rear axle.

You should take your car to the 1/4 Adam and see what she will do.

Have not done a 1/4 run at a track. The car pulls hard up top though. I will be running at LA invasion hoping for low 12's at Fontana, ideally I should run 11.7 ish but thats just bench racing and doesn't count lol.

Dude I believe I will be running at LA invasion, if I can get NAWZZZZ I would love to run a 125 shot there and get a low 11's pass.

Adam,

I have only been out to Fontana ~3 times and Irwindale ~3 times since the t56 has been rebuilt, but I've gone 7.98 @92.9 @ Irwindale and best of 12.48 @ 113.7 at Fontana...

With a 7.5x at Irwindale, you'll be running at LEAST bottom 12's, in my 'bench racing' opinion...

We should line up next time we're out!

Yeah well DA is better at Irwindale, I am guessing I should run low 12s at fontana. If irwindale was a full 1/4 I should run a high 11s pass.

Best track for DA is famoso.
