Default LS3 into 2005 with M6?

the bottom end of my LS2 decided to retire itself last night. I found a real nice LS3 motor in the GM PP
https://store.gmperformanceparts.com...-19244549--%3E

has anyone put an ls3 into an ls2 m6 goat? will it mate to the trans? what else is needed as far as wiring, electrical, fuel? any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks!

The LS3 will bolt up to the trans but I don't know if the wiring is compatible. Ask your Pontiac dealer, they should know for sure. The G8 GXP has an LS3 so I don't see why you couldn't put one in your GTO.

trans will mount and everything will fit but fuel rails and intake if it does not come with a rectangle port intake and i believe the reluctor wheel is 58 x where as ls1-2 are 24x. There are conversion boxes out i know that lingenfelter has one .

Will bolt right in. But reluctor wheel will need to be changed or the Lingenfelter box used. You'll need to use the GTO oil pan and pickup off the LS2.

Made some calls this morning. Looking like the lingenfelter box and a reprogramming of the stock computer is pretty much all i will need and then its plug and play from there. Anyone else have any input from this?

If you bought the car from a dealer they should cover the motor after one week. What caused the motor to get damaged?

Just get right reluctor wheel and cam gear changed! Everything else is plug and play. Makes for a much cleaner install and that'll be one less thing to fail and or worry about later on!
