Default New to the CTS-V world...

Hello all. I already posted in the introduction forum, but I wanted to introduce myself in here, because this is probably where I will spend most of my time on this site. I am new to the world of LS motors,& new to the world of Caddy's as well. Please don't knock me, I come from the Blue Oval side, but I have always respected the LS motor, & have wanted a V for a while now...

Anyhow, I just took ownership of my dream ride. Its a 2005 Light Platinum CTS-V. I purchased it from a buddy whom was the original owner, it has 51k miles, & its in immaculate shape. He already did all the tasteful mods, so I'm just gonna enjoy the car & drive it.

The mods include a Flowtech street sweeper cam (228/232 duration. 111 LSA, 612 intake/600 exhaust), Full B&B exhaust from the 1 3/4 longtubes to the 3" x pipe & catback, electric cutouts, eibach springs, QA1 adjustable shocks/struts, 3rd gen diff upgrade, Hendrix anti hop axle, Spectre Works cradle bushings, custom poly motor mounts, LS7 clutch, uuc shifter, & tuned by Newtech Performance. For a 3,800+ Lb car, man this thing scoots, & rides smoothly in the process compared to the Mustangs I am used to LOL... Im in love for sure....

Here are a few pics & a soundclip...

Just wanted to say hello & I look forward to posting & learning a lot from this site!!!

He did the cutouts more so for sound rather than performance, so they are right before the mufflers.

Welcome to the club and that thing sounds like a BEAST.....I've had mine for 11 mos now and have enjoyed almost EVERY minute of it....I was a Mustang owner in the past as well. One thing I will say is the help and support you will get from other V owners on this site is priceless.....That and most of the people who have V's aren't your typical douchebag like I was used to running into on the Mustang forums. Good Luck and by the mod list looks like your buddy did it up right.

Thanks man. I have wanted a V for about 3 years now, & I still can't believe I actually have 1. Yeah, you shouldv'e seen how a few of the Mustang guys on the local forum reacted when I sold my Mach 1 for this car. They acted like I killed someone, but all I did was step into something more comfy, refined, & dare I say faster LOL. On top of that, I still own my 91 Mustang that wont be leaving me anytime soon.... My 03 Mach was pretty well known on a bunch of the forums so it came as a shock when I sold it, but as much as I loved the car, I got bored with it & it was just not comfortable to drive with the full suspension setup.

Anyhow, yeah my buddy hooked this car up nicely & I am very happy to have a car thats already done. I would rather drive my car instead of wrenching on it these days, & that is EXACTLY where this car fits in!!!

That thing sounds evil. How much power? Has it been to the track?

Thanks... He didn't give me a dyno sheet, but said it made roughly 400rw. He took it to the track once & pulled a 12.99 @113 with a 2.1 sixty ft. Im gonna throw it on the dyno soon, & may take it to the track once, but my Mustang is the track car, I really don't want to break anything on this car...

Was your Mach 1 red with FR500 wheels? I came from an 03 Cobra and have not looked back once. I miss the raw power but thats about it.

Welcome to the V world.

Thanks for posting the vid of the exhaust. I didn't think that the B&B mufflers actually quieted down the sound as much as your vid shows. I think mine will be loud enough after my x-pipe, especially with a 418. This is where I'm going to install mine.

Thanks again guys... So far I'm loving every minute of being in this car, as much as I love mustang's, this car just has a totally different feel to it, & the combo of comfort & power can't be beat.

@Big Reg. My Mach was red with silver Fr500's... Here is a pic....

Welcome ! Looks clean! I also came from the cobra world. I can say that I love this chassis and smooth power the V has more then the mustangs. The ride is nice also even with being lowered. How does it run against that 03 cobra?
