Red face Door Lights / floor board lights?

Hey all,
This is my first time so be gentle:
I was wondering if anyone has added "door lights" to the inerior door panel? I was thinking it would be nice to have a light in the panel so when you open the door there is a light. Newer cars have them and installing one would probably pretty easy but my main question is where to pick up a interior light power source? I was also considering adding floor lights up front for the floor boards but only whan the lights on when the doors open? Any ideas?

I would think any 12v power supply would work and you could tap it. And just be sure to ground it off on something.

As for lights on the floor board, do a search a few people on here have done it using the LED strip lights.

I 'd do LED strips in the kick panel to light up the footwell area.

Lighted door sills. I added footwell led's also. I tapped into the BCM light wires so they dim after I turn the key off.

Thanks to all of you guys for being patient.
The GM lighted door sills have been approved for sale.Had to go through water intrusion and Elctrical conformance, but we are now good to go.
We will need a few days to update the website with the new style, but let us know what you need, all logos are approved for use!!!!!

Has anyone ever looked into doing ABL (5th Gen Camaro) style door/dash lights on a 4th Gen? I could see it looking SICK around the door inserts. Any thoughts?

Bandit provided a great link.

I tapped my two "power" wires right off the dome light. This pair of wires powers all the LED strips for my interior. Lots of LEDs, but they use so very little power, the total draw is about equal to the stock single filament bulb that I removed from the dome light. And, all the lights go on and fade out when the doors are opened/closed. And if I need, I can turn them all on/off by using the headlight switch.

Did you buy the lighted door sills? If so can you post some pics. Like to see all the different designs and colors people are going with.

Here some of my pics of my UV LED setup:
(don't mind the hotspots; it's kinda hard to take clear UV pics)

^ Heeeyyyyyy, double bonus and I got a good pic of them pedals. Looks good and the lighting really emphasizes the pedals. Looks like you just used bulbs not strips, how many bulbs per footwell?

I have three 4" led strips in each footwell. Each strip has like 8 leds I think. The UV is the color...like blue, green, white, etc.

I am currently doing this to my door skins and door sills. I have one of my sign shops fabricating this for me. It will be illuminated with blue leds and will tie into the interior under dash light. When the door os opened, the logo and name will be lit.

I stand corrected, wow 3 seems like a lot its not to bright for ya. Is that a hydrodipped middle console I see also, looks to have a design and very glossy?
