Default Thinking of going from et drag to radial, will it hook?800whp

So I've been running my.boosted t brake full suspension car with et drag.slicks for years and they work great. What I don't like is at the top end the car walks alittle and it feels dangerous.

What if I switched to a 275 60 15 mt drag radial with a little stiffer side wall. Would that even come close to hooking on a 9sec car with 1.4 60s?

once you get the radials figured out you should be able to go just as fast or close to it on that radial. Its so stable on the top end you might bet bored. I go 8's on a 275-50-15 mt dr at the shittiest track known to man. 60' is 1.40. I took about 200hp away from my car and took about 4 passes to get it figued out. now its time to start feeding that power back in and see what they'll take.

Radials are harder on drivetrain components.

A friend of mine has a 1,200whp supra, he uses Mickey Thompson drag radials 275/55r15 and hooks in second gear on the street, but for track racing he uses slicks due to the lesser strain on the rearend and transmission.

I'm running tubular every thing, adjustable torque arm set to negative 3. Qa1s all the way around with 275 rate in front. 4l65e 3600 stall using a t brake and launching on 10psi. 3800lbs.

I'd tend to go for a Hoosier drag radial in a 275/60/15 if you want a lil more sidewall flex like you're used to with the old school et streets. If you want something more stiff-walled try out a 295/55/15 mt radial - lil wider than the 275/60s, and still a 28" tire.

I have a new pair of 275 60 15 bfg drag radials I just put on my 68 camaro street car. Might try those out first at around 15psi.

If you get it dialed in on the radials you should go as quick or quicker than 1.4s.

Good to know. I'm really excited to feel alittle more stable and in control at the 140mph range.

Any update on this thread? How did it work for you? I have the 275 40 17s and they do not hook. Thinking about between qtps or the 295s and prostars. Im 490 rwhp through on on yank 3600
