New LS1 Owners - Newbie Tech - Runs like crap

I took my pedal out to remove my column and put in a straight column from Flaming river with no Ign switch or blinkers just a quick release steering wheel. I put a 50 amp toggle switch and starter button taped in to the Jeep wiring harness. After putting it back in the Jeep runs like shit. I started the jeep after every step of hooking it back up with the pedal plugged but laying on the floor and it idel fine. It is a 2003 5.3L Avalanche With the DBW setup with the blue/green factory harness. When I start up the engine it is running at a high RPM and sounds like on 4 Cyl and no pedal at all nothing happens will pushed. When I unplug the pedal the rpms come down some but is still miss. Any help Please respond back.

Have you checked all the other connections, and the wires themselves for any breakage?

ok so this thing is going from bad to worse now it won't start at all after I
tried to hook up my diagnostic link up so I could scan the ECM to find out whats
wrong with it. So let me tell you how I hooked up the link. The orange wire is
hooked to the battery both blacks are grounded to the body. The purple wire is
hooked to pin 58 on my ECM. The scanner turns on and scans but comes back
No link. WTF? When I flip the power switch I can hear the throttle blade set butno fuel pump. If I hook fuel pump up direct and hit the starter button it cranks but wont start. When it was running like shit but running I unplugged the
throttle and it smoothed out some but still idling high so I plugged it back in
and unplugged it from the TAC same thing Again plugged that back in and unplugged the TAC from the harness same thing. Man I'm confused. There is no one around here that even has a clue about swapping these engines let alone how to diagnose this problem. Please HELP. lol
