Weird! I just went to start my 99 SS and mine is doing the same thing. Everything comes on like normal, turn the key and nothing. Security light is on so I figured it was the VATS. How to fix?

Not sure. I tried my other key and it started the car. This is the first time in 12 years the car has done this. Strange!

Probably not VATS if the security light is off. Try it in neutral instead of park.

Make sure your battery has a full charge. Typically, if the gauges are acting up and the security light is not on, it is a battery problem. Sometimes, a battery will even have enough juice to turn the starter over, but not enough to fire. Check battery charge, then let us know what happens.

Default Same Issue 2000 V-6 Firebird Won't Start

Must be the season for gremlins. My car will start when I jump the solenoid but
only runs for a few seconds. I tried the VATS bypass didn't make a difference.
Suggestions?
Thanks
Mark

Check your fuses under the hood. You might have a blown fuse.
