Default Victor Reinz .026" LT1 gaskets

Anyone know the part# for these gaskets? I know the Mr Gasket ones are #5716. Thanks, appreciate it.

These Victor Reinz 5898 .026" can only be used under 12:1 CR? What if you're running a cr above that like 13:1 or so?

I use them on my 12.3:1 motor. No problems in the last 8k miles.

If you look up Impala head gaskets in the Victor catalog, the 5898 is the number given.

BOLO, you might want to check out the Cometic's. That is what I use. You can get a .027" from them and are much stronger being MLS than the GM impala gaskets (in my opinion). I would also recommend using a light coating of copper spray gasket on them prior to install.

Cometic's are significantly more than the GM Impala gaskets, but it's cheap insurance at this performance level.

Im going to run the Cometics in my new engine. I hear good things about them, especially with a healthy shot of nitrous.

I will say that the block deck surface and the head surface need to be very true for them to seal well.

they can be ordered from vatozone. just picked mine up friday. i initially went to advance and they were like victor who? lol said they've never even heard of the brand...
