Just had a set of these installed in 245/45-R18s. Unbelievable tire.

Had to drive in rain and light snow with them on the way home, and the wet traction was pretty much the same as dry traction. Surprisingly, even though I went from a 50-series tire to a 45-series, the ride improved, along with the handling.

The only downside is, you have to correct a little more on-center.

If you live in an area that gets a lot of rain and snow, I highly recommend these!

Those tires get noisy once they have some miles on them, and the wet traction decreases tremendously. Any new tire will do good at first, but a good tire will retain that ability as it wears, and this isn't one of them. They also have balancing issues too as they wear.

I had these on my last car and went through two midwest winters with them. I'd also recommend them.

Well, compared to the Continental Pro Contacts I had before, and the Sumitomo HZR IIIs I had before that, these are a huge improvement. As for noise, I've never heard the tires on the Impala, as the exhaust tends to overpower everything.

This is good to hear. How many miles did you get out of them, and under what kind of driving?

These are what I am getting next as well...my BFG KDW's suck tremendously in the snow/wet.

How many miles did you guys get out of these in the past??

As far as I know, those tires weren't produced 2 years ago. They came out early in 2010.

Here's what I was saying about them getting noisy after they have some miles on them.

Changed out my stock tires at 35k miles for some DWS Continental Tires -
That was 20,000 miles ago, about a year or so and have rotated them 3 times...
now they are making noise, i take car in and i hear they are "chopped up real bad"...

IDK about the DWS part, but I had ContiExtremeContacts on my last car and the thread looks VERY similar to what mine looked like.

I'd say I only put about 15K miles on them, and they had good thread life left from the looks of them when I traded my car in. Driving was normal for fall/winter. Spirited when it wasn't shitty outside.

I had a tough time choosing between them and the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S plus. I got the Michelins.

The ContiExtremeContacts and the DWS are different tires.

The BFG's are absolutely horrible, I had truck tires that were quieter. The Conti is a nice tire, although I am considering grabbing a dunlop next set of sneakers I go with.

I have the Goodyear Eagle GT all season tires and they have great dry/wet/snow traction. Plus they handle fantastic in the corners, and after 15,000 miles they are as quiet as the day I installed them. There's no sign of cupping on the tread and they are wearing evenly across the tread area. At triple digit speeds they are smooth as glass.

Nice choice Mike!!!I can't really tell from the pic(cell phone) but how bad is the wheel gap?I've been wanting to change the size up on the tire to 245-45ZR/18 GY Eagle F1 GSD-3's.I thought they were a great tire when I got the first 2 tire's(235-50ZR/18),if not them then the Nitto NT555 245-45ZR/18.

I'll try to get a picture of the wheel gap before it gets dark.
