Default My little new addition that may save my life.

Pick up this fire extinguisher today from Summit Racing as well as the mounting bracket. I think it looks awesome. But I have no freaking idea where to mount this at.

You know, I really need to get one of these too. Seen too many nice cars destroyed by electrical fires. Good purchase that may save you and your car.

The hatch area has plenty of space and it would be out of the way there. My car already has two steel straps that might have been for a fire extinguisher. It is located on the drivers side under the space directly opposite where the spare is. I have jumper cables there at the moment.

Between the back seats like many do w/ nitrous bottles? Passenger side kick panel? Hatch? Depends how close you want it to you if you need to access it. Also, depends if you have passengers riding w/ you a lot. If you do, then you probably don't want it in-between the rear seats or on the passenger kick panel.

why not just in the cubby of the drivers door? or mount it to the trans tunnel unless you have your nitrous bottle there

Not a good idea, you really want this where the driver can easily reach it from the driverseat. You Don't want an extinguisher where you have to get out of the car and pop the hatch just to reach it.

+1, also i dont know about your hatch, but mine never opens on the first try. That would suck when your car is burning to the ground lol

I like the picture of it mounted in front of the passenger seat. Now how would you slide the seat forward?
Unless you make a bracket, so the seat can still slide forward.

If you yank your rear seats, there's a perfect factory bracket from the floorpan under the cushions to use as a mount, that is what I chose, right behind the driver's seat.

I was thinking that too.. I wouldn't want it in the hatch. God forbid, imagine a fire. You gotta stop the car, jump out, open the hatch (imagine the hatch doesn't open the first time like 90% of our cars), run BACK, hit the hatch again, etc etc.

I'd either put it in the back between the two seats, or in the passenger footwell mounted to the trans tunnel
