After cutting the opsu neck to clear the ls1 intake, the little filter wont fit anymore, is this of major importance or can i run without it??

When we replaced the lifters in my car we ended up ripping mine. I went to the dealer and got a new one for like $6.
I don't know if it's needed but...It's called the "last chance filter" for a reason I presume.

Then keep the filter. I'd hate to hear of a collapsed lifter

You dont need that shit. A collapsed lifter isnt caused by a $6 filtet. Change your oil on time and you should be fine

He's talking about the filter inside the valley tray. It's there for a reason.
Not worth chancing having to pull the heads off over a 6.00 part IMHO.

I didn't say that it was the cause for my collapsed lifter, I was simply sharing what a collapsed lifter sounds like and my thoughts on the filter.
To the OP: Im sure you would be fine. I would really try to make it work as like I said earlier, it must have been put there for a reason. I am very cautious about the internals of my engine.
The collapsed lifter could have played a part in that :D 12 Hours of work and pulling a head, the Rear one at that has me on edge about everything.
On a side note, It's insane how light our aluminum heads are. I know it's obvious, their aluminum but....DAMN
