What modifications will i need to do to run a double roller timing chain?

Default What modifications will i need to do to run a double roller timing chain?

I have a ls2 out of a Trailblazer ss. and im wanting to know what modifications i will have to run a double roller timing chain. i here there will be troubles with the cam sensor and the timing chain cover... Does anyone have any expierance with this thanks.

there is a hump on the back side of the timing cover that hits the the double roller. Just grind the hump down for it clear the chain. here is a picture, for better understanding.

How much did you remove? Did you remove the hump till you hit the bolt hole threads?

i never got down to the bolt hole threads, i grinded untill the cover would go on without hitting the chain, then i took it back off and grinded alittle more just to be safe.

Have you test fitted the cam sensor? some guy on here said they hit

You will have to do some grinding for sure. I am using the TF double roller and I spent some time grinding and welding. I don't have pics and I can't remember exactly what I did but I used clay to check the clearence till I had a good .200" clearance. The casting needs work on the back where it holds the crank seal.

Im running the In motion double roller ls2 timing chain set. which texas speed reccommended to me..
