I'm trying to decide on a new set of 315/35/17 for my TTII's. Car is putting down over 500 to the wheels and is a weekend car only during the summer (nice weather). These are for street use only (have a drag setup for track).

I was looking at purchasing the NT05 over the NT555, but then I started thinking I would need more traction and started looking at the NT05r and Mickey ET streets. The only thing is I don't want to be picking up every little piece of debris on the road. So, maybe the NT05 would be the best option? What's your thoughts guys?

I'm assuming the ET streets pick every piece of debris up from the road and won't last long?
I think I'm leaning towards the NT05.

what about the nt 555r II, stiffer sidewalls so the tires are also good for corning, good track tire, or maybe the kumho ecsta xs

which NT05? The street version or drag radial version? I just put the NT05R's on mine. 275/40/17s and they are a good ratio of street/strip. Better then the 555r's on the strip and still decent in the rain. I don't pick up much debris either. With the Mickey ET streets you will hook a lot better on the track but shitty in rain and won't last for **** if street driving.

My 555R's pick up just about everything. If the roads is not clean you can hear small rocks pelting the inside if the fenders.

Almost any drag radial will pickup debri on the road, that's why they are called a drag radial.. the compound is soft when heated so you can HAVE traction, hence why it picks up everything. Nitto's would be the best choice if your driving on street with them, they will still pickup everything but not as much as MT's would. Ironically, they don't hook as good as MT's also.

with 500 to the tire you will need all the traction you can get, I vote MT et street radial. I put about 4000 miles on mine this summer with 2 track days and they are about 1/2 way gone.

I dont think $500 every 2 years is to bad for tires....

That's what I don't want... but with how much power I'm putting down, I need to pick one or the other (less traction, but no debris or good traction, and picking everything up and hearing it in the fenders).

By the way, if I can help it, it will never see rain. I'm looking at the street radial NT05 (not the NT05r) now. Does anyone have first hand experience with these and tell me if it picks up a lot of debris on the roads and how are the sidewalls?

i'm bumping this one...i'm in the market for drag radials also for my tt2 17x11. i'm looking at 480rw 430rwtq in a few months with 4.10s. apparently there is no 315/40/17 drag radials which i was hoping for.
