Hotwire Aerobics
So I was cruising on home the other day with the car
full of groceries and just as I threw a rev, the car up
and dies. Had to push that fat bitch the last half mile.
Come to find the Hotwire lug on the alternator just
came apart, crimp stuck to the wire and lug still on the
alternator. No idea why, the harness was nicely zip-
tied to the motor nearby so it's not like there was a
strain.
I redid it so that the feed comes from the fusebox
battery post instead, so there won't be any more
vibrating or whatever. Needed a couple of feet of
wire added.

This was a used harness so chances are the ring terminal was stressed from being torqued on and off multiple times.
We recommend people stay away from used fuel and electrical components when possible.
