Question Stop squeaking!!!

So I changed my waterpump and now the pulley that runs on the smooth side of the belt is sqeaking and driving my crazy! I've taken the belt off and cleaned it thinking it had some grease or something. I also cleaned all of the pulleys with a toothbrush and water and degreaser.I had changed all of the pulleys awhile back.(somewhere around 6000miles ago) What is causing this noise.

A mechanic's stethoscope will help you quickly find the noise:

So what did you do? I've already pinpointed the squeak...I just need to make it stop!

So, you changed the pulley that's squeaking 6000 miles ago? What did you replace it with. Unless it was a dud, I wouldn't think that it should be squeaking.

I just bought a new one and this **** is still squeaking! I have a stethoscope so I know for 300% that is where it's coming from. It makes my car seem like a pos with a paint job!

lol a pos with a paint job................mine squeeks also. I read a thread on here about the squeeking and read that regreasing the tensioners stopped the squeek. i plan on painting and regreasing all my tensioners when i pull my motor next month. mine sounds more like a bird chirping under my hood.

Search for the "wanna save $80?" thread. I did it to my LS1 and every single one of the pulleys were bone dry for grease.
