What kind of 383?

What kind of 383?ls1 of course. Same motor I had in my camaro last year except I bumped the compression by milling the heads from 67 to 59 cc and going to a 1 7/8 header from 1 3/4. It went 10.4's on motor last ear on motor and this car is at least 200 lbs lighter. A little more power, too.

So how much did you have to take off those heads to get the camber cc's down so far?

So how much did you have to take off those heads to get the camber cc's down so far?Originally 72cc's. Tony Mamo would have the exact amount as they are afr 225's but from 67 to 59 about .030. Maybe .050 altogether.

I use to have racing bullets on it now they are summit racing mufflers, turbo style. Easier on the eardrums.

Nice, from the video's sounds like a quick car, have any pics from the swap or current condition? .030 down and it dropped that much. I wonder what my 243's will be after .030... let us know when she see's the track I'd like to hear the numbers, I recently convinced a friend to do a carbed 5.3/th400 swap into hi 92 notchback, that thing is all fiberglass except the body itself, no interior, aje k-member.. So our fingers are crossed for your good weather as we still have a foot of snow on the ground.

I am going to run a true radial class so I bought some cooper 275/60s as that is the largest tire you can go with unless you are running a vette or viper. Hoping to get it down to 10.7 or quicker. On drag radials hoping to run 10.0's or better on motor. Motor used to make 450 rwhp through a 5000 stall and moser 9". With bigger headers and a bump in compression hoping around 480 to 490.

I bought it that way. That will be the last thing that gets fixed. You should have seen the old fenders.

I hope to hell mine doesn't ever do that. Don't feel like fixing the cowl, windshield, wipers

I know there are some fast cars down there. Just haven't heard of any true radial cars in that area that will be that quick. But sounds like you know of some that I don't. Good luck any ways, i'll be spectating.

Ok so aluminum 383 not iron 5.3 block, sweet,Yep. Last year I made 29 consecutive passes on the last day the track was opened. I haven't even checked how the main or rod bearings are because it runs fine. Sprayed it several times, too.
