Default LS3 or LS2 C6?

I just sold my Camaro, and I got this itch to buy a C6. I got approved for 45k, but I want to buy a used one anywhere from 28-35k. Mostly the LS2 fit the 28-31k and the 32k-35k are the LS3. I know the LS3 is superior, heads, bigger bore, etc. I wanted to get some inputs though? What should I got for? Also are those prices fair, where should I be looking?

I just want to cruise around, maybe take it the track, the most mods, i'll do to it is headers and intake.

LS3 all the way. The engine responds better to mods and it will be easier to find one with lower miles. We all say well just do headers and intake...heads, cam, custom exhaust, forged bottom end, full suspension and $1500 worth of rubber later...

It wont be too long before I sell my ZO6 so I dont have the payment when I buy a house, but in a few years I hope to be able to buy an LS3 C6.

LS3 hands down.

I've seen them in Phoenix going for $31-33K, keep your eye out and wait for a deal.

Two logical options. Spend $38k on an LS7 C6 (Z06). Or $25k on an LS2 C6 and $1000 on an LS3 top end. Rest of the money goes to headers cam and wheels.

The LS3 is a good platform do any building on. More cubes and goods heads already there. Wait for a deal and jump on it

Um 36-37k on a used ls7 c6z would be the correct answer its miles ahead of the rest.

ls3 vettes also have nicer interiors, more responsive steering, and are more bang for your buck

37k for a C6Z? All the ones I see are in the 45-49k range.

If I can get a C6Z 37k I might look into that, and get that LS7

As said, LS3's have better factory handling and other advantages, but as also said - you can do an LS3 top end swap for $1000, and upgrade the suspension/interior as you see fit.

Your referencing doing the swap on the LS2 right?

Just wanted to clarify, its a great point though the swap can be done. But I am mechanically challenged so I will probably have to dish out a lot of money for that type of swap.

There's two (Z06) on cl in the 38s. Most 06/07 are in this range.
