LS3 or LS2 C6?

LS3 or LS2 C6? I just sold my Camaro, and I got this itch to buy a C6. I got approved for 45k, but I want to buy a used one anywhere from 28-35k. Mostly the LS2 fit the 28-31k and the 32k-35k are the LS3. I know the LS3 is superior, heads, bigger bore, etc. I wanted to get some inputs though? What should I got for? Also are those prices fair, where should I be looking?
I just want to cruise around, maybe take it the track, the most mods, i'll do to it is headers and intake.

LS3 all the way. The engine responds better to mods and it will be easier to find one with lower miles. We all say well just do headers and intake...heads, cam, custom exhaust, forged bottom end, full suspension and $1500 worth of rubber later...
It wont be too long before I sell my ZO6 so I dont have the payment when I buy a house, but in a few years I hope to be able to buy an LS3 C6.

Two logical options. Spend $38k on an LS7 C6 (Z06). Or $25k on an LS2 C6 and $1000 on an LS3 top end. Rest of the money goes to headers cam and wheels.
