Military Hotrod Club - What Branch is this Insignia?

My father had this on his Army uniform when i was little. I cannot find any info on the branch. He told me it was "Special Weapons" when I was young and that it was a Nuke branch. Like to know if its still around and its history. I've searched Google images and the US Army web page but nothing.

59th Ordnance Brigade was a military Unit of the U.S. Army. The brigade had more than 6,500 soldiers. It was responsible for delivering, maintaining and supervising the weapons of mass destruction ("special ammo") for forces of the allied NATO-countries. The 71st Ordnance Battalion was activated in Germany in 1955. 1959 it was formed into the AWSCOM. On 24 March 1962 it was renamed into 59th Ordnance Brigade. In October 1972 the SASCOM was overtaken. The Brigade got the addition SASCOM in its name. In June 1992 the Brigade was deactivated after it had removed a lot of nuclear weapons from Europe. It was reactivated in Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, 1994.

59th Ord now resides as the trainers here at Ft Lee, though I've not seen that patch on any of the uniforms. Ordinance...erm...no thanks I'd blow myself sky high!
