Default Lifter noise?

does anyone ever hear a little knocking when under a light load, like giving a little gas out of a stop? It sounds as if there is a little ticking at an idle, almost like a lifter? Is this normal? People with Ls1's and the dealers tell me that LS1's are very loose motors and this is normal. Its not very noisy, just annoying!

I got one ticking on #2 cylinder, it's dead quiet on start up, but after about 10 to 15 seconds it starts to tick, on and off. After it's warmed up it's pretty much constant. Very annoying, and from what I've heard it's pretty common.

Would running diffrent oil help? The dealer tells me its normal...hard to believe! The car runs great, and uses no oil! I sometimes hear a knock when I accelerate from a stop, then it goes away as I speed up, depending on how hard I hot the gas...hummm...Normal? I guess it could be the knock sensor, or running bad fuel...

I got the same lifter noise in mine. Comes on in the same time period too. I've been told by my dealership that there is nothing they can do about it and that it's normal (when they will even admit to hearing it).

I took my car to one dealer and he said it was Piston slap. I took it to another dealer and told me that I had a bad lifter, and they replaced it. It has started up again though.

I have the same noise. I've had three techs now tell me it's normal. I ask them if the the cars that don't make the noise abnormal? I get a blank stare after that. Does anyone know if piston slap would make the same sort of noise as a colapsed lifter?
