bent drivers axle on '00 ws6...
Hi all i'm a newbie here & just purchased a '00 Ws6 from a friend of mine. driving in the rain he hydroplaned & bent the drivers rear wheel & axle. my question is can i pull any axle from any 4th gen f-body drum or disc? the car has abs with 3.23's. the local wrecking yard down here only has 3 4th gens. 2 are late 90's firebirds w/ drums & 1 '96 z-28 w/ rear disc. also if i pull the entire rear outta the '96 z28... other than a different ring/pinion gearset would it pretty much be a bolt-in job? hopefully its just a bent axle & not a bent tube.
thanks guys

Whats most important is if you have traction control (ASR) or not. You can't use a non TC axle in a car with TC.
I think the year range is 1998 to 2002, all the same, even V6 cars.
Summit sells Alloy USA axles (made in India) for $89 a piece.

thanks for the info. good to know about the ASR/TCI set-ups. i found out that my T/A is equipped w/ TCI. went on that popular online auction site last night & found a used 98-02 TCI equipped axle for $60 shipped. guaranteed to be straight & usable according to the person i spoke too... ordered one last night. we'll see how it goes
