Thinking about doing a Lt/ORY install soon, but need advice. Hey guys, so im thinkin about installing some LT's and a ORY to match it. My question is how hard is it to install the LT's, and how hard is it to delete the air pump? It looks pretty crammed in there, and just wanted to get some feedback. Thanks!

I didnt even have to remove the steering shaft on my old car with the pacesetter lt.. Very easy. IF you have a tall enough jack you will have this project completed in less than 3 hrs even if you have never done it before.. Just reuse your stock gaskets too.

I Just deleted my air and egr in preparation for my lt and ory. Pretty simple stuff. Will set ses light though just as a heads up. Air only took about 15 min to pull. Make sure you have block off plates or get lt without the hookup.

I did my first LT/ORY/!egr/!air last year, also swapped the motor mounts out at the same time for some polys, which I definitely recommend doing. Get new GM manifold gaskets, NGK TR55 plugs, and new wires(I went with MSD's) too while you're at it.
You'll need to jack the front of the car up quite a bit to get the headers in. Deleting the emissions stuff isn't hard at all, but just know if it isn't functioning it will throw the SES light. You'll have to get at least a mail order tune to delete the rear O2 sensors and you can remove the emissions from the computer at the same time. Your car won't pass an OBDII inspection with these errors.
There's a couple really good threads on this forum that cover the install with detailed pictures. This is one of the best.

It took me probably around 12-14 hours total. A couple nights after work and most of a weekend to do the work all by myself. If you have some mechanical ability, the tools, and don't mind banging and scraping your knuckles then go for it. It's definitely worth it

It took me 2 days. First day was MMs, and removing everything else prepping for headers. 2nd day was header and full exhaust install.
I was hurting from the waist up for about a week afterwards. My hands felt like they were completely useless during this time too.

Honestly I did NOT have to cut anything or unhook steering. If you get the car about two feet off the ground its not that bad. Just be patient take plenty of breaks and get a good buddy to help you. took me two days with lots of stopping to eat drink and drink some more lol. but anyways have the correct tools I even needed a 3/8th rachet a few times in tight spots it is very tight in places. Again slow and steady and it can be done. PS PB BLASTER on all the old bolts helps a ton def. do not wanna break off any bolts especially the header bolts. Oh and go ahead and change your plugs and wires while you are in there. AIR btw is simple just make sure if you have a 00 and up to plug up the vacuum hose with a little screw or something. Have fun and oh dont forget to start the car AFTER you install headers to hear the open headers IT SOUNDS WICKED!

It really isn't hard, just time consuming...unbolting everything and removing it. Take your time and it won't be too bad. I didn't need to touch the steering shaft, my cheap *** painted pacesetters slid right in.
Word of advice: do plugs/wires while you're in there if you are due for it. This will be the easiest plug change of your life, 1000x better than doing it once the car is back together.
