Im looking into getting new tires for my staggered C6 wheels on my camaro. Right now the rears are 295/35R18 which im fine with. The fronts on the other hand are 255/50R17s and look like they have to much sidewall. I thought about 255/35R17 or 265/35R17 but they seem to be hard to find so Ive found 255/40R17s that are a good price. Any problems going to these?

295/35/18 = 26.13 tall
255/40/17 = 25.03 tall
255/45/17 = 26.03 tall - would probably be a better bet.

The front will have a taller sidewall in order for overall tire height to be approximately equal.

Thanks for the help, ive been playing around on 1010 tires tire size calculator and I think im down to two choices.

Fr. 275/40R17
Rr. 285/35R18

or

Fr. 255/45R17
Rr. 295/35R18

The latter is about the closest I can get, total diameter difference is only 0.35%. I just worry about the sidewall in the front being too high. I have 255/50R17s on the wheels now and I think they look kinda goofy. I guess it doesn't make any sense to have a wider tire in the front just to sacrifice some width in the rear where I'll need it though. I think im going to go with the latter choice.

what size r the front rims?? if 9.5", then get 275/40's... if 8.5", get 245/45's or 255/45's...

The fronts are 9.5"s. I ended up getting 275/40R17 Firestone Firehawks. I plan on getting some 295/35R18 Firestone Firehawks for the rear soon. The 275/40s in the front fit the 9.5" wide wheels perfectly, no stretching and no buldging.
