Default I got a new Alpine Deck but it sounds weaker then stock deck

Whenever I set the "auto tone" to "c/w", in the stock deck, the bass would be really good. In this new Alpine Deck, it doesn't seem to have that setting and even with the bass all the way up, it doesn't sound as good

what went wrong?

what is the c/w setting and can i get it back?

thanks
Pascal

I installed a Sony Xplod head unit after listening to a set of aftermarket speakers on the stock head unit. The stock head unit produced a more rich bass sound than my Sony Xplod head unit I installed too, with those same speakers. The bass is powerful, but not as low a frequency possibly. For instance, the difference between a thump from a Disturbed song from my Sony HU and the ongoing bass in a Crystal Method or rap song from the old HU. Anybody know why that would be?

I just had that same issue, going from the factory unit to a pioneer deh-2200. I believe the loss of sound quality was, in my case, going from a unit that had a 7 band eq...to one that only had a generic 3. I upgraded to the deh-3200 which has a 5 band...and better presets, and now it sounds great.

edit* I just realized that this was of no help at all...sorry

From my experience (which is limited...so if I'm wrong feel free to school me) when you adjust the "bass" setting on the cd player it generally is a setting for subs and not for your speakers if you have no subs. You need to find the setting for the lower frequency sounds and whatnot.

Shouldnt sound worse or weaker than stock, check your wireing and settings. Any aftermarket thats not a pile of crap will sounds 100x better than stock. Mine is a fairly cheap sony hd and it was a difference of night and day
