Weight Reduction. So when i got my camaro i first pulled my spare tire/jack and all the other tools that i had in the back of the truck and that was about 50-60 LBS and since then ive been pulling some carpet and some plastic interior pieces and i would be lucky if that weight even 10 lbs. My buddy keeps telling me to pull my back seats and all my carpet/interior pieces but i dont want to then i wondered how much a gallon of gas weight and it comes out to around 6 LBS (i looked online) and if your smart with your fuel when you go racing and get you tank to the check gauges level(which is about 3 gallons left) you will have saved about 60-80 LBS vs. having a full tank when you go race, just a thought i wanted to share with you guys. if you have any other ideas or tricks feel free to post them.

You can also:
-delete all AC components includeing the HVAC box under the dash
-relocate your battery to the trunk
-delete front and rear bumper supports
-delete carpet sound dampening
-delete rear seats and seat belts
-race seats for the front
-tubular front k-member
-tubular a-arms
-drag brakes
-drag wheels
There is more you can do if you want to get really extreme, but after the above, I'd rather just make more horsepower.

i wouldnt recommend going to the track with the "low fuel light" on. our tanks are not baffled, which means the fuel is able to slosh around in the tank. under hard acceleration, the fuel can slosh away from the pump bucket, causing the pump to suck air. once you suck air youre going to go lean and potentially blow up your motor at full throttle. if you wanna save weight, just have at least a 1/4 tank or something.

Rear seats are worth it. Roughly 30lbs. Also makes your exhaust sound louder. Every 100lbs removed equates to 1/10th faster in the 1/4, assuming you are not losing traction by removing that weight.
I agree with everything said except these two items above...
Pulling the padding off the carpet will remove a small fraction of the weight, but the real weight of the carpet is actually the molded rubber that the fibers attach to - so pulling off the sub-5lbs of padding doesn't really do anything but make it louder. The proper thing to do is remove it completely and replace it with a lightweight replacement, similar to the thin cheap automotive carpet material that they used to sell at WalMart.
As far as tubular a-arms, the front upper control arms and the rear lower control arms weigh more than stock when in tubular form, since stock is just thin stamped sheet metal. The front lower control arms available on the market right now are prone to breakage, but can work if you don't mind cutting off the lower shock mounts and welding your own heavy duty mount in place, since the ones they come with will bend and/or break, given enough time. LG used to make a strong lightweight front LCA that would not break with daily driving and potholes or even under road racing conditions, but they are hard to find nowadays.
Also, the passenger seat is somewhere between 15 and 25 lbs.
