Default Just for Clarification

After doing a bunch of research I find myself a bit more confused then when I started. Mostly because I didn't realize I had a question in the first place. But now that I do I want to make sure, if I am using a 02 ecm and harness with a 00 alt the charging is taken care of by the ecm and I don't need a bulb or resistor, correct? Thanks in advance.
