Ok so i bought a 1993 Z28 LT1, The guy i bought it from had a used tranny put in it before i bought it. The transmission came out of a TA with like 70k miles on it so i am assuming tranny is ok. When wide open throttle the car is shifting at around 3,300 RPMs? If i manually shift it i can run it too the rev limiter but if its in drive it shifts so early. What would you guys equate this with? I am gonna check throttle body too be sure its wide open. Other than that i am not sure. Tune Maybe? or Possibly valve body or something.

Any opinions would be appreciated!

Might i add car has a slight missfire or lack of power when slowly rolling into the gas, but at WOT it runs fine. Assuming its 02's at this point. Would that possibly mess with the shift if the computer is reading wrong? Seems too smell super rich outside too

You need to adjust the t/v cable. Search, 700r4 t/v cable.

Could be the governor calibration, especially if the car it came out of had different rear gears.

As for the TV cable, it should be at full pull at WOT.

Car could be in limp mode mayble? You said it doesn't run right so that might possibly be it

Can anyone give me a detailed instruction on adjusting this TV cable? I found the release button for slack on it and everything just lost from there...Thanks!

Adjust it so the cable is at full pull at wot. Usually release the button so the spring forces the cable housing back, then hold the throttle at wot and put the cable release back in the locked position. And thats it, check to make sure the cable is tight at wot.

Theres no limp mode on a mechanical transmission.
