Question about painting rear Camaro panel.
Hey guys, I'm thinking about having the rear panel painted black on my camaro & was wandering if gloss or flat would look better.. Also thinking about buying a Wings West grille & painting it the same as the rear panel to kinda color cordinate it.. The car is bright red & I think that it would look pretty good but, at the same time, would like to get some opinions as well.
Thanks,
Mike

Well the GMMG rear panels (Berger, Hot Rod, 35th LE Perf Ed, Tom henry, and ZL-1's) rear panels are painted "satin black" not glossy but a duller black with no clear coat.
I purchased a new panel from GMpartsdirect.com for $100 and had it painted at my local dealership for $50.

Just go to Home Depot and get a rattle can of Satin black, that will work perfectly. Take that piece off the back and sand it with some 120 grit just to rough it up, clean all the dust off and spray it, finished.

I used satin black
The paint I bought was custom mixed at a paintshop for me, laquer paint. So no clearcoat.
The paint was like $10 for a quart, and $20 for the stuff you have to mix with the paint (cant remember what it was for)
