I found a broken clip-in electrical connector on my motor today, driver's side of the motor, between the spark plugs, between the #1 and #3 cylinder. Looked through SH box, but couldn't seem to find exactly what it was. I can find and post up a picture if I need to, but I just wanted to know what it is, and how do I go about replacing it?

Cool, thanks guys. It's plugged right into the cylinder head. I looked at it a little more and it looks like it broke right on the sensor side in the motor (the plastic part) and not on the wire/clip itself. Meaning I'll just have to replace the sensor.

Is that censor just something I can grab at the dealership or will I have to order it online? Is it just threaded in there, or what is the removal procedure? ( sorry it's getting dark in the garage now and my drop like just took a **** )

make sure you get the right one, i took mine in a few weeks ago and asked for the coolant temp sensor...it turned out to be the coolant temp switch, or vice versa i forgot

Yeah I'll most likely pull it out and take it with me when I go to get a new one.

I was hoping this would have been the culprit to my car's surge in rpm at idle...not so lucky I geuss

if i remember correctly all that sensor is for is the gauge, its the one in the water pump that tells the ecu the temp. So i dont think that is your issue

The one in the WP is for the PCM

They're cheap and easy to replace.
Pick one up at the parts store.

i can't remember off hand, I had to change mine though, because i broke it putting in my lts. I just pulled it out quick and got the new one in as fast as i could and i lost a little bit. If your looking to take it out and into the store though maybe you want to drain your coolant.

how is it not a coolant temperature sensor (as it measures coolant temperature), I never posted that it was for the ecu, i even posted in a later post what that one does as opposed to the sensor in the water pump
