Fixing a trained mechanics work!!
so i was took off the door panels of my 99 z28 vert. last night. only to find out the guy i bought it from wasnt a mechanic at all. he should have took up golf instead of work on f bodys, but heres the deal. he replaced the window motor, drilled out the rivets like you should. lol then when the window goes up and down this WHOLE assembly moves. he used screws to hold the motor intact. my whole entire assemble moves probably a quarter inch. i got this on video. If you want to see this creation send me your email and i will share this with you! lol Anyone possible know how to fix this mess. and also the window is sorta falling off the track a bit cause of it? Any help would be awesome!

Yep,
I have done that myself many times.
Lock washers, lock nuts, and your good.
It sounds like the screws have simply loosened on you. Continuing to use the motor like that could wallow out/deform your screw holes though.
Simply take the door panel off, and retighten. But make sure the hardware will not come loose again. Just use the right stuff. If you want to really make sure, loctite the threads.
Or go by yourself the equipment you need to put the large rivets in.
Thanks, Roger

After I went through the whole ordeal of removing the rivets, screwing around with pulling out the daggone regulator, and having to use nuts/bolts to reattach, and realign everything, NEVER AGAIN. From here on out I take the shortcut, drill a few small holes in the fiberglass, then take the motor off the regulator and replace without messing with the regulator unit itself. MUCH easier.

Did my window motor the same way and when I got to do te passenger side I will do it the exact same way also. If the fiberglass holes on the door are not ovaled out just re tighten with locktite or locking washer and nuts.
