It's called a Vapor Barrier and it's not really needed. Left mine off when I covered the inside of the door in dynomatt.

Default Dynomat

How big of a difference did you notice with the dynomat installed.I got the door panel off now but money is a issue, but then on the other hand I do have the door panel off.Don`t really wanna take it off again considering I have a new motor an autotrix high voltage kit all ready installed.

If you need a barrier like dynamat, look into RAAMat. cheaper and probably just as good of quality. i lined my whole zr2 in that stuff.

Night and day difference. I actually went with a product called "Second Skin" instead of Dynomatt (just use that name as everyone know's what it's for). "Second Skin" is thicker and a much higer quality product, but it's a little pricy. I did the whole car when I changed out the carpet and it helped out a ton and doing the inside and surface of the doors was amazing as it cuts down on a ton of rattles.
