I have an appointment to get my valence installed and blended on monday. Will I have room to install the cme tips with the valence installed?

Are your stock tips on now or sticking out? I chopped mine off before installing the CME. Make sure to install the CME tips afterwards to get them lined up and all.

My stock tips are on now but I'm going to cut them off before it goes in. I just wanted to know if there is room to install the cme tips without taking the valence back off after it is painted.

Theres some room. BUT be careful welding up the pieces near the valance. Heat will melt it. You need about an inch clearance from the tips to the valance. Hers my first set of ugly tips....the quad-si-motos

I had plenty of room for mine. My exhaust guy worked really hard on my setup and we were bouncing ideas off of each other throughout the install and what we came up with was swelling the 90* elbows so that the ends of the elbows fit snugly inside the ends of the tip, but still allowed movement. This allowed me to move the tip side to side and up and down to get it exactly where I wanted it and I used 2.5" band clamps to secure it instead of welding it. However, I did weld the elbows to the tailpipes so that the connection would be solid there.

^ That is pure sex. I want to run a cme on my car with a gmmg so bad I can't stand it. I just can't justify the price for the valance, the elbows and the tips. Just too much money for me, well, for the wife, lol.

This is what I have to work with, a stock cme. So i'm going to try to use the stock bends.

the oem slp tips make you wonder why they only used one bar for support in the middle

They used one bar in the early models, and then began using two support bars in the later models I believe.

The 90% elbows arent that expensive, an exhaust shop can do them for you too. I doubt they would charge your very much. Tips and valence on the other hand, cant really get any cheaper lol

Do what i do, i put money into my paypal account. Ill send whatever i can afford to without hurting me when bills come, build that money up to the price of the parts i want then buy them. Dont break my wallet that way.

And the exhaust shop managed to screw up installing my tips. Now I'm going to have to take it to a different shop and see if they can fix it.

there paying for the other shop to fix it right? that's messed up. I helped the shop center my tips cus I wanted them to be perfect as possible and like they say no one will do it better then the owner

If I lived close to you bro I would go back to the shop with you and make them fix that ****!!! then if they messed it up more I would bill there *** with SLP cost then report them to the BBB. dont spend more money make them fix it

yeah either make them fix it or make them pay another shop to fix it that is unacceptable

I had the valence painted where i'm originally from then had them install it. I had to go back to lincoln where I live and didnt want to drive with the exhaust shooting on the valence. So I figured that the local exhaust shop should be able to accomplish this task because it really didnt look that difficult to me. My dad emailed me these pictures this morning and I was not impressed one bit.

cant your dad take it back to the shop and have them fix it... send a pic of a CME done right to your dad to show the dumb asses how it should look
