Last year I ran in about 3 times out of the racing season and my best run was a 12.9@107. I am going tommarow to see how much better it will run with the mods I have added since last year-Circle D 9.5" 3400 stall and 275 nitto dr's. My 60ft last time was 2.08 on the 12.9 run. So you guys think with the stall and dr's I will hit a 12.6 or better? What do you guys think it will run now?

well...i cant help you in the quarter. but i went from 8.27 at 86 to 7.77 at 88 just from adding a ss3600. im guessing youll run around a 12.4-12.2

I'm going to guess 12.4-12.5 in weather is similar to your previous time/trap. Corrected I would expect 12.1-12.2@110.
You should be able to get a 1.75-1.79 60ft pretty easy. If it spins a lot try working into it, sometimes I stab it about 1/2-3/4 throttle then WOT once moving a few feet out.
If the track has enough bite to hold WOT out of the hole you can do better than my guesses I would think.

Thanks guys. I just was trying to practice my launch and these tires are hooking like shit. I am thinking if I can't hook any better than this I will probably run a 12.6-12.7. And yea the weather shoud be close to last time.

Thanks for the launching tips. I think I am going to have to try and do that because it just won't hook good at all.

Im thinking with that 3400 stall you should lay down at least a 1240, but it depend on your 60ft. If you get a good 60ft and hook real good you might get a 1220 its all about your 60ft:nod:.

Make sure the air in the DR's isn't too high. You really only want about 15psi in them. That might be why you're having trouble launching. Or it just could be due to the streets not being sticky...I'm gonna say 12.3-12.6 depending on track prep, 60', and all other factors.

I ran 12.4's all night and ended up running a 12.3 the very last run of the night at 11 when it shut down. I had a little wheel spin all night. I think getting rid of some wheel spin I culd get it down to a 12.2. The d/a was 1400 so it was about 800 better than last time. So I gained about 5 tenths by just adding the stall. And I spun with the stall. I think wtih slicks I wuld see 7 tenth improvement.
Here is the slip. I will post a actually pic of it in a little bit.

Hell, I'd be very happy with your times! I've read all your posts on the stall. Seems like your happy with it and it really helped your car. I'll set my goal for 11.99. But I've never been to the track with my Z/28 before. Took my turbo gp to the track alot though. But thats fwd on slicks.

What track to you usually go to? WIR or GLD? I'm going to try to hit GLD this weekend if the weather holds out.

Yes I have front qa1 12 way adjustable front shocks ready to go on anytime. And in the very near future I plan on getting lca's with lca relocation brackets. And this summer i plan to put in a cam. Most likely a 228r112lsa unless I change my mind.

If its your first time with your z28 it will be close, but really ther isn't much to it. Practice shallow staging and getting the stall where you want it. With slicks you shouldn't have much trouble though. And I am very happy with my times! I really wasn't expecting to run that fast. I ran like 4 12.4's and the last pass of the night at hit the 12.3. It was litterally the last pass lol. It closes at 11 and it was 11

Yes, it will be my 1st pass ever in my Z. What do you stall it up to with yours? Looks like you can hit 11's with your set up!

I stalled mine up to about 2500 rpm. I hav heard people trying different techniques with launching a stall, but im not really sure whats best. I was busy trying to get these damn nitto 555r's to hook lol.

All the stalled auto guys around here say if they are on radials to brake torque it off the line. If they are on slicks they launch at idle and flash the convertor. The one dude with just an exhaust and a 4000 stall was pulling 1.5 60's all night by flashing the converter.

Reason I don't like flashing it is because that puts a shock on the rearend. I want the 10 bolt to last me awhile

From all my reading im decinding it is my best choice. I don't wanna go any smalller and someday think I should have went bigger like I did on my old lt1, but I don't want to go any bigger and have to rev to the moon. Plus I think this is as high as I can go with my 3400 stall. Almost makes me think I should have went with a 3600-3800. I like my rearend in one peice though so Im not regreting the choice for the 3400

Almost makes me think I should have went with a 3600-3800. I like my rearend in one peice though so Im not regreting the choice for the 3400the rear is fine and will take A LOT of abuse from an auto car if it does not wheelhop. my junk had almost 50k miles worth of street racing, drag racing, general dumbassity on it, stock rear and trans...i sold the car and to my knowledge it is still on the same setup to this day. i installed a transgo high stall/full race shift kit and had 373s/girdle in the rear.
the car went 1.60-1.62 AT LEAST 200 times. i only remember it wheelhopping one time in the 4378904290420 passes i made at the strip. on the street it just spun. i only had lcas, sfcs, and i removed the front swaybar. i had a 4k stall, wish i had gone bigger.
i sold the car and now am dealing with this m6 pos haha.
