Dumb question!
I recently installed a ls2 into my car and I just realized. I cant remember if I had a pilot bearing installed before I bolted up the t56. I remember if felt good and tight putting the input shaft in, and bolting up the tranny. So my dumb question is... has anyone here ever tried bolting up a t56 to a motor with no pilot bearing, and could you tell it was missing before you bolted it up by the feel of putting the input shaft in?
I am going to check to be sure but I just wanted to know.

You most definately need ir, that tight feel you described you will get without the bearing, thats from the input shaft sliding thru the clutch disc splines. I am on my phone so I cant zoom in on that pic to see if the bearings there, Ill try when I get home. Sure beats pullin the trans if it shows in the pic.
