i keep hearing about 96-97 knock sensors being better or lt4 sensors being better. whats really going on here? which one is better at not detecting false knock?

If I'm not mistaken, all of the knock sensors are the same. I think what you are referring to is the knock modules. And if that is the case, the LT4 knock modules are "better" because they are less sensitive to false knock in the respect that they were designed to work with the roller rockers that came in the LT4 engines.

i know about the module. iv had ppl say the 96-97 one is better and im trying to figure out why and can i use it on my 94?

KS are OBD specific and there is nothing special whether for I or II. The KM is not OBD specific and can be used 94-97.

It should also be made clear that there is no such thing as an LT4 knock sensor, only the knock module.
