Default oil pressure to high???

I have a 94 camaro, I put in a new 180 degree thermostat and changed valve cover gaskets. And now it idles around 40psi and at WOT around 70. Im guessing this isn't normal at all, or is my oil pressure gauge just acting weird. It read fine before I did this work. Only mods are exhaust and trans work

What was the oil pressure prior to your fixes?

Like 10 psi, and 30 at WOT. I don't see how any of the things I changed would make that much of a difference. Oh and I changed the PCV valve hose that goes from the valve cover to the throttle body

10 at idle was way too low. It should have been higher, at least 30. Did you change your oil with a different type or weight?

shoot mine used to go to 85ish when it was cold at part throttle, but once warmed up it would go down and idle about 40.

Get a mechanical gauge on there to verify your actual pressure. There's a chance you maybe bumped the sensor, broke the wiring, etc.

10psi per 1000 rpms is within GM specs.
