Default ebay fabbed valve covers

Anyone ever try these? Obviously they are not notched, so some grinding would be required. You think they could possibly fit? They look nice and the price is right.

I have a set of those in my RX7/LT1 swap. I did however relocate the alterrnator and fabricated a filler neck to be able to use the stock oil filler cap:

On the inside its basically a copy of the palsic piece in the OEM valve covers:

It is fastened to the valve cover by a large nut and seals on the outside with an o-ring slot machined in the flange.

I've got a set, fit well but the bolts included are junk. It's going to take some work to make it compatible with a high mount alternator.

Agreed.
Two of the bolts supplied in my set were not even threaded. The ends that looked like threads were just like evenly spaced rings. I changed them for allen head bolts.

wow, ebay has sinkin to a new low lol. i didn't know bolts could be that cheap. very nice valve covers though. i'll probly get some of these down the road and cutout the end for the alternator and just get the "notch" sheeted back in... couple flat pieces and a few welds should be easy enough.

Will these work with the alternator in the factory location?

No, not without modification. the factory VC are notched to give the alternator room. you could grind a bit off the alternator and as i just said, cut part of the end out and fab it to work around the alternator.

I didn't use these but my valve covers were not notched either... When I did my build I had replaced my stock hub and balancer the after market one I bought was universal for Camaro's and Corvettes for the Corvette it had a half inch spacer I used the spacer and then bought half inch spacers at Ace hardware that allowed me to space out the accessories bracket as well. It moved the alternator out a half inch and gave me the clearance I needed for the valve covers.

hmmm ever think about making another set like that and selling them? maybe notch it perfect for a stock alt location? if so i'd be willing to pay like $100 for it.

They look nice on the car, I might just spring for the Canton's to avoid issues.

I got those exact covers I am going to weld my oil cap on though and also -8an bungs for a catch can, Because the covers have no pcv holes. And we all no Ltx's have high crankcase pressures and leave the inside of the intake looking like doodoo.I will gets some pics up as soon as it's all finished up.
