Looking to buy maybe a new intake.. saw on http://www.tbyrne.com/ls1catalog.html
That they had that nice Weiand intake.. Besides the LSX intake what is the best to get? LS6 and the Weiand are pretty much the same price.. Let me know what yall think.. Thanks

While the Weiand aluminum intake may look good, in my opinon it is the worst thing you could do to an LS1/LS6 performance wise. 1997 was the year that GM got a slap upside the head a realized that an aluminum heat-soaking intake was not the way to make power. People don't realize that one of the reasons the LS1 is so fast is because of that plastic intake. It drastically keeps the intake charge DOWN. Drive a LT1 in the middle summer. Park and see how long you can keep your hand on that intake- you won't. Now try that with an LS1 and you could keep it there all day. Whether your at the track or sitting in rush hour traffic that thing stays reasonable while the guy w/ the LT1 is cookin a ham on his.

If your really in the need a good intake, go w/ the LS6 or that LSX. Keep in mind if your car is fairly stock you might only see about 5RWHP with the LS6, and you defiently should not need the LSX.

You could get some really great gains as an N/A package. Quality ported heads, custom camshaft, and then on top of that, the intake and throttle body.

The reason us 01-02 guys brag is because it's a piece of mind knowing that its there and when we do heads, cam etc it won't have to be replaced.
