Default Need Some Input: RPM 505's

After taking my car out of storage Im getting the bug again for wheels. I have always liked the RPM 505s but the chrome is way to busy on a mesh wheel. My question is would it be possible to buy a set of silver and turn them into a polished finish, like the lips? Could the paint be stripped and then polished, if so whats involved? I have been interested in chrome C5 DD wheels but after seeing some recent pictures the RPM's are back on the drawing board. Thanks in advance.

Powdercoating is usually a PITA to strip, then polishing all them grooves. Hats off to ya if you tackle it.

Looks like matte or low gloss. Satin powder def has more sheen to it than that. 40-50% gloss is normal in stain powders. I'd put that at 10%.

Nice contrast between the center and that deep polished dish!

Heard back from Weldcraft today. $250 per wheel to widen them an inch. Would adding an inch to the inside of the wheel change the offset from +38mm?

yes, offset is drawing a centerline through the wheel and then which ever side of the offset your hub is on determines whether it is positive or negative. If you add one inch to the inside of the wheel, you changed the centerline by one inch. , so you just added 25.4mm to the positive offset.
